Molding Rubber to Plastic
This component is the main body for a vapor proof hand lamp. The picture shows the plastic insert that is molded into the body and bonded using a heat-activated adhesive. The proprietary vinyl-nitrile blend is very non-conductive, oil resistant, and handles impact with no problems.
Custom Rubber Corp. took over existing tooling when our customer couldn't get the consistent quality and reliable delivery that they required. As a manufacture of portable power management equipment, the customer has a family of parts that are a distinct yellow color, and must be cosmetically perfect in order to maintain and grow their brand image.
