Unique Shock Mount Design
The part pictured below is used to mount a very sensitive instrument on a Navy ship. The part includes two metal inserts; an ID bushing and a metal u-shaped bracket pictured on the right side of the part. The bracket is mounted to an outer shell that keeps the instrument in place, and the instrument is mounted to the ID bushing using a thru-bolt.
The rubber shape between the two metal inserts is designed to give some flexibility while also keeping the instrument stable. This part is an excellent example of Custom Rubber Corp. molding complex rubber-to-metal products. It is also a great example of the power of geometry to insure a rubber part flexes in just the right place, and just the right amount.
The molded rubber parts pictured are not in stock or for sale. These are examples of custom-manufactured products that illustrate Custom Rubber Corp.'s capabilities. Contact us with information on your needs.
