The part pictured here is an excellent example of a molded rubber spiral convolute or spiral bellow. When articulation is side-to-side, a spiral convolute work much better than concentric bellows. Concentric bellows, when molded in rubber, can tend to buckle or collaps when flexed side-to-side. A continuous spiral convolute doesn't kink in any way when flexed laterally.
Custom Rubber Corp. can assist you with determining the type of bellow (concentric or spiral) that's best for your application. We can also assist with determining the wall thickness, the diameters of the peaks and valleys, and the lenght of convolute or bellow necessary to adapt to the direction and distance of travel.
The molded ubber parts pictured are not in stock or for sale. These are examples of custom-manufactured products that illustrate Custom Rubber Corp.'s capabilities. Contact us with information on your needs.
