A leading manfuacturer of solar panel roof mounts contacted Custom Rubber Corp. to mold a custom-designed rubber grommet that is the key to their mounting system. When mounting solar panels on a roof, there are two critical factors;
- The mount has to be strong enough to hold the panels to the roof against high winds and storms
- The mount has to make a water proof seal around the mounting hole to ensure against roof leaks.
Our customer started their business in New England so their roof mounting system works great both for rain and the harsh feeze-thaw cycles winter can bring. The custom molded grommet is THE KEY component in the mounting rack. The unique design integrates with the metal mounting hardware and has a designed compression that guarantees a waterproof seal.
