New Design to Eliminate Unnecessary Components
Custom Rubber Corp. worked with our customer to develop a new concept for their product that integrates what was a thin molded gasket and an additional plastic piece, into just one durable molded rubber component. The molded rubber part has a skirt around the bottom that is designed to seal against the mating pipe - the part is a coupler for underground cabling. There are also four individual seals for four smaller pipes.
The flared shape around the top is designed to guide the four individual smaller pipes into the right mating hole. Once assembled, the coupler insures no water or dirt egress into the pipe joint.
