Custom Rubber Corp. participated directly in numerous conference calls with the end customer, our direct customer, and ultimately a tool maker that the end customer insisted on bringing on board to help save the day.
The initial plan was to rush the completion of a very questionable production tool for the rubber bumper. Custom Rubber Corp. convinced all the parties that the best course of action for long-term success was to build a smaller pre-production tool to run at Custom Rubber Corp. while a robust, solid production tool for the rubber bumper was constructed.
The tool maker brought in by the end customer made the pre-production tool in record time and Custom Rubber Corp. was able to begin production of the rubber bumpers and keep the end customer supplied through the initial production ramp up.
Ultimately, a well-designed production tool was completed and PPAP'ed and both the end customer and our customer are happy.
The Moral
Custom Rubber Corp. is not the least expensive provider of molded rubber bumpers and other parts, but we are committed to our mission of Responsiveness and we do whatever is in our power to keep customers supplied with quality parts when they need them.
