Reviving a Halted Project
Before this customer contacted Custom Rubber Corp., their project had come to a halt. The customer had been unable to find a supplier who could meet their rubber molding and engineering needs. After meeting with the customer, Custom Rubber Corp. was able to resurect the project. Several critical features necessitated extensive engineering and design work between Custom Rubber Corp. and the customer.
Vital Custom Features Added
This molded rubber device plug functions primarily to protect the internal electronics from dust and debris - in the harsh environment that militaries operate in. In order to make this molded rubber part both seal and cover the electronics as effectively as possible, Custom Rubber Corp. engineered and molded the rubber part to act as a cover with several "plug" sections. Once secured into place, this molded rubber deivce plug covers the electronic device's back section while protrusions lock into the ethernet and AC adapter sockets. Other features include recessed areas to fit over the power switch and through-holes that allow an LED to show through.
