Fiber Communications Require Molded Seal
The two seals pictured here are molded from a high-grade Nitrile (NBR) rubber for use in an underground conduit coupler. The geometry required along the edge of the seal is quite complex - it's a double hourglass shape - that requires a very specific location for the parting line, and minimal evidence of the material sprue.
Custom Rubber Corp. supplies the complete lineup of sizes for these round rubber seals. The two parts pictured here are approximately 9" Diameter and 2.5" Diameter.
After molding, the rubber seals are deflashed using Custom Rubber Corp.'s state of the art cryogenic deflashing equipment. This insures the part is shipped nearly flash free, which guarantees a good seal in the field.
