Fine Detail in Rubber to Metal Bonding
Custom Rubber Corp. was approached by a leading global developer of automotive suspension systems to assist with the molding of a complex small diaphragm. The design of the diaphragm changed multiple times and each time Custom Rubber Corp. worked to modify the tooling and produce additional sample parts. The pictures shown here illustrate two of the iterations. The rubber around the edge of the final version includes three thru holes (.040" diameter) that have to be clear of rubber.
Ultimately, the design was confirmed and testing concluded. The part functioned as planned and is used in a high-tech suspension system for luxury cars.
