Innovation in the Rubber Industry
Innovation: the act or process of introducing new ideas, devices, or methods. ["Innovation." Merriam-Webster. Merriam-Webster, n.d. Web. 21 July 2014] Innovation is vital to the success and growth of any business. Through innovation one continues to expand technologies, learn new and improve current processes saving both time and money. Custom Rubber Corp. works to innovate every aspect of our business. We incorporate both small and large projects as innovation does not have a size limit. From improving and streamlining our quoting process to working on our custom process water cooling system, we believe all improvements ultimately aid the customer. Custom Rubber Corp. also works with our various material vendors to develop or improve rubber compounds when needed. Custom Rubber Corp has developed its own custom formulations to fit the needs of various industries or customers. Having the expertise to innovate in house allows us to service our customers immediately as projects change or arise. Great effort has also been put into our rubber to metal bonding processes and working to push the envelope of what is possible. Custom Rubber Corp has designed custom demolding fixtures allowing for multiple metal inserts to be molded in place simultaneously, while decreasing the amount of labor required for removing parts from the mold. This ability allows Custom Rubber Corp. to not only produce complex parts but also pass along the cost saving of our innovations to our customers. The area Custom Rubber Corp. takes the most satisfaction from is helping our customers innovate inside their own industry. We are able to help solve complex problems with simple solutions resulting in increased business or improved margin for our customers. Some examples include: improving assembly with design change, reducing the total number of components in an assembly, improving the look and durability of a product. Innovation is an area that can be easily overlooked. It is easy to become comfortable with the current situation and think there is no room to improve. Custom Rubber Corp. strives to break this misconception and bring new ideas and processes to the rubber industry. Investment is also critical to innovation, having modern molding technologies allows for innovation in process and mold design. By doing so we are able to help our customers solve problems while also improving our own processes.
