Custom Rubber Corp. has a trademarked mission statement, “Responsiveness – From Design to Delivery”, that is embodied within the company from the beginning design process all the way to delivery.
Our product life cycle begins when you pick up the phone or email us at
[email protected], and ask for a quote. We generally can quote you in less than two days - something you won't find in other rubber companies. Whether you have a solid model, a CAD model, a sample, or just an idea, our professional designers can optimize it for production quality and cost minimization.
If you do not have a design prepared, our designers can send custom designs of what you may be looking for. We'll get your feedback and improve the design to your liking. Once the design is finalized, the 3D model can be used to make a mold. We can coach you through the entire process to make your idea a reality.
If you have a design prepared, our Advanced Product Quality Planning team will work on optimizing your design for molding. Some designs are more challenging than others and finding the best materials and the right mold is as much an art as it is a science. A challenge is coming up with the accurate shrink percentage, as rubber does shrink after molding. As the complexity of the job increases so does the expertise required. Fortunately, our design, manufacturing, and process engineers have had many years of experience and are ready to tackle any challenge you can bring to the table.
After the final mold design has been determined, it's sent off and made by our strategic partners. We then order the necessary rubber compounds to make the product. When the mold and rubber compound arrive, we are ready to start molding the rubber through our injection molding, transfer molding, and compression molding machines.
Our manufacturing and processing engineers fine-tune each of the machines for the particular job adjusting the cure times, temperatures, and fill quantity to ensure optimized production. Additional variables are adjusting opening and closing speeds and clamp pressure. This process, if done carefully, can greatly optimize production time and reduce issues such as undercure, knit lines, non-fillls, and air traps.
After molding all the parts, they are then finished via de-flashing. Depending on the product, we use hand trimming, tumbling, or cryogenic de-flashing.
The finished product is then packaged and shipped out to wherever you need it.
There you have it! Our entire product life cycle from start to finish! If you have any questions or want your rubber product molded, email us at
