Mold Design and Construction

New tooling or transfer tooling

Made in the USA Tooling

Custom Rubber Corp. has in-house tool designers and engineers that work with one of our local partners to design and build tooling.  We work with customers along the way to insure everyone involved agrees with things like parting lines, gate locations, texturing, logos, and flash.  Once designed, the tool will be manufactred at one of our tooling partners facilities - all within a 1-2 hour drive from our facility.

Part and Tool Design
If your molded rubber part is a concept at the time of quoting, Custom Rubber Corp. can assist you with the first step of the process - creating a solid model of the part.  A 3-dimensional solid model of the part is required to confirm the part volume/weight as well as to begin designing the mold.  Custom Rubber Corp.'s engineers are experts at designing mating parts for complicated applications (see protective boots covers and sleeves).  Our engineers know how much stretch and/or compression to design into the rubber part to make sure it serves the end function perfectly.

Prototyping If Necessary
Custom Rubber Corp. also has a number of prototype options (see prototyping) if the project requires confirmation of fit and/or function.  Our sales and engineering staff work with potential customers to determine the most cost effective options for prototyping.  Often times we can execute on prototypes very quickly in order to move to the production phase as quickly as possible.
