Custom Rubber Corp. won Second Place for the ARPM's Educational Outreach Award in late 2019.
The award recognizes companies that "... have made a significant impact in the promotion of a career in rubber manufacturing." Custom Rubber Corp. won first place in 2018 and continues to work on building a network of local High Schools and encouraging tours of manufacturing facilities as a way to expose young students to careers in manufacturing. This year, the $250 prize money was sent to Shaker Heights High School to assist with their implementation of new hands-on curriculum. The school implemented an Industrial Robotics class in the 2019-2020 school year and will be starting an Introduction to Machinging course in the 2020-2021 school year as part of the school's "i 3" Initiative
